Some surprises in our 2021 vintage

The upcoming 2021 vintage still wines are nearly with us and we’re increasing our range with two new wines that we know you’ll love!

For the first time we will be producing a still rosé from our Pinot Noir Précoce grapes, alongside our Solaris and Bacchus still wines and we will be officially launching these wines on 29th April 2022. Well ahead of our anticipated July release, so if you’ve pre-ordered some of our Bacchus or Solaris, we’re delighted to announce you’ll have them well ahead of schedule.

These three wines are all (in my very biased opinion) a step up from previous vintages. As the vines mature they are able to show more and more fruit flavours, giving the wines complexity and character in spades. On top of that we were lucky to get away with a very good season here in 2021, despite the weather giving us some very tense moments throughout the year.

The Bacchus vines had their first full season without any significant setbacks in the form of disease or frost. As a result the 2021 Bacchus still wine shows succulent gooseberry notes, while keeping its typical elderflower aromas and crisp refreshing character.

The 2021 Solaris still wine is as bold and characterful as ever with juicy fruit notes and a wonderfully broad range of fruit flavours on the palate. With slightly less acidity in this vintage we were able to make this Solaris drier than in previous vintages, allowing it to show more of the subtler notes that sometimes are lost when sugar levels drift higher.

The much anticipated 2021 still rosé, made from 100% Dunesforde grown Pinot Noir Précoce, is a fantastic addition to our range of wines; creating a fabulously crisp and refreshing rosé with delightful red fruit flavours - this is a really classy rosé. Unfortunately we’ve only been able to make a very small number of bottles, so it will be available to drink exclusively at our wine bar in the vineyard.

But there’s so much more coming, not only are we releasing a still rosé for the first time but our Pinot Noir Précoce grapes have been used to produce a red wine and this wine is gorgeous - light, with hints of spice and packed with red and black fruit flavours, this is exactly what we wanted from a red and something we had doubts that we would ever be able to achieve. I am so happy to tell you that a Dunesforde Red will be joining our ever-expanding range of wines. We expecting this to be released around September - watch this space!

We also have three new sparkling wines gracing us over the next couple of months. These are: Queen of the North Classic Cuvée 2019, Dunesforde Sparkling Rosé 2019 and Dunesforde Sparkling Solaris 2019. All of which are very worthy and very similar successors to their 2018 vintage compatriots. These sparkling wines are all in the very final stages of development and will be released as soon as they are available, so do keep an ear out .
